After a busy summer vacation; a few weeks of camp, swimming lessons, lots of soccer, Sikkim vacation (pics and blogs to follow), it was time to go back to school on June 3rd. Ashwin and Priya will be going to school until late July, when they'll get a break before returning to the US, and starting school there in September.A school going tradition in India is to wrap all the note books and textbooks with brown wrapping paper and label them appropriately - a job for Mom and Dad, naturally. No time to ease in to 1st and 4th standard - home work started on day 1.

Welcome back! Hope you had a great vacation and we're looking forward to the travelogue. Prabhu, Priya, and Ashwin look really cool on the scooter, great picture Leann! Can't believe another year of school is starting there--we're gearing up for graduation on Saturday and a big brunch with friends, neighbors, and classmates on Sunday--wish you were here!

Wonderful pics of all of you! Aunt Leslee and I were just talking tonight about your first day of school Ashwin and Priya! Seeing you riding to school on the scooter with Appa brings back memories of our visit in January. Looking forward to your pictures from Sikkim!

What an outstanding looking pair of students! I like the color of the school outfits. I think it is wonderful that you have started school already. Glad to hear you had such a wonderful break and will look forward to hearing more and seeing all the pics. Would love to have a copy of the picture of Prabhu, Ashwin and Priya on that scooter. So cool! Also a pic of Leann in one of her wonderful saris would be great. hint, hint, hint!
